Tattoo - The word means:evening drum, bugle, or piper signal recalling soldiers to quarters. The earliest form of the word is from the Dutch "tap toe" which literally means to "close the tap" of the cask in the barrooms.

The modern version of the tattoo is a parade ground concert of military bands. The tattoo at the Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival includes all of the visiting guest bands and groups:  U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Band, HeadTalk, Isla St. Clair, Celtic Cannons, and Dogs of the British Isles. Our tattoo is known throughout the world for its beautiful mountain setting and powerful performances.

ALSO PERFORMING AT THE TATTOO WILL BE THE SCOTSGUARD AND RED HOT CHILI PIPERS MORE INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE

U.S. Army The Ft. Carson Mounted Color Guard A seven soldier unit serves as Fort Carson's ambassadors to Colorado communities and neighboring states. The Mounted Color Guard proudly carries the United States and Army Flags in 1874 pattern 3rd Cavalry Regiment uniforms and tact nearly 200 community events and military ceremonies a year. They are highlighted as the focal point for many parades, rodeos, holiday, heritage and community activities by performing any one of their many choreographed routines.

U. S.  Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Band Established in the late 1950s, the Combat Center Band is one of the youngest Marine Corps musical units. A band from its inception, it was later re-established as a Drum and Bugle Corps and remained as such until 1990, when a restructure of the Corps music program formally established the twelve Marine Corps Bands we have today.

Isla St. Clair is one of Scotland’s foremost singers, noted for the depth of feeling she brings to her country’s music.  Her performance is spiced with fascinating and humerous anecdotes of Scotland’s heritage.  Known to millions in Britain for her numerous television appearances, Isla has performed with some of the worlds greatest Celtic artist ranging from the Chieftains to the Simon  Fraser Pipe Band and at venues as diverse as the Edinburgh Festival to the Royal Albert Hall in front of the Queen.

Be sure to reserve your tickets early. The massed bands' rendition of "Amazing Grace" is truly a moving experience.
